Birdsboro, Pa. – The Berks County Animal Rescue League is offering discounted spaying and neutering surgeries for dog and cat owners thanks to a grant from Tina Saracino’s State Farm agency in Birdsboro, Pa. .

“Sterilizing and neutering your pet is an important part of its health. Sterilization can prevent many life-threatening diseases, such as pyometra (a serious infection of the uterus), and if done at a young age, it can also prevent serious breast cancer later in life. Sterilization can prevent or reduce many harmful or dangerous behaviors, such as assault and homelessness, which puts them at an increased risk of being hit by a car, ”said Dr. Jason Banning, medical director of the ARL.

The promotion is available for a limited number of appointments and includes the rabies vaccine, microchip, and pain relievers. Appointments are now accepted.

Owners can make an appointment by writing to [email protected] or call 610-373-8830 ext 640
