Success for the first year of Adopt Coast to Coast

AN ADOPTION agency celebrates its first anniversary.

Adopt Coast to Coast The Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) of Cumbria, Durham and Sunderland celebrates its first anniversary this month after successfully finding homes for 120 children since its launch.

Since its launch, Adopt Coast-to-Coast has approved 77 adopters and more than 70 more are currently in the adoption application process, putting the partnership in good stead for the second year.

Paula Gibbons, Head of Service for Adopt Coast to Coast, said: ‘Collective agencies across England do not have enough adopters for the number of children and babies in need of forever homes, we therefore, we are always looking for safer and more loving homes for children. in our care. We are keen to speak to people who are considering adoption as a way to start or grow their family and we especially need adopters who would consider the children who typically wait the longest to be matched with a family. This includes groups of siblings, children aged four and over, and children with disabilities and learning difficulties.
