Clarksville, TN – Each week, Clarksville Online will bring you pets from different rescue organizations in need of a good home in and around Clarksville-Montgomery County. This week’s animals are for the week of July 18, 2022.

Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes are available at area animal shelters and shelters, along with opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations and helping with fundraisers and other family activities.

Finders Keepers Cat Rescue

Lena Heady is a domestic shorthaired tabby mix. She is fully checked, neutered, litter trained and ready for her new home. Lena prefers a home without children and eventually can coexist with other calm cats and dogs. Lena will become your Velcro buddy and follow you everywhere. She loves to snuggle up with her people if given the chance.

Autumn is a cute 2 year old polydactyl (extra beans on front legs) short haired girl! She has been fully vetted, wormed, flea/tick treated, FIV/FELV tested, spayed and litter trained. She’s just the prettiest little thing looking for her forever home. She can be shy at first with strangers but with patience she will warm up and be your best companion.

Faithful Friends of Stewart County Animal Rescue

Stewart County Faithful Animal Rescue - Mesquite — Stewart County Faithful Friends Animal Rescue – Mesquite

Mesquite is a beautiful senior (11 year old) Great Pryenese/BorderCollie mix. She came to the rescue through no fault of hers after the death of her owner. She is very sweet, spayed and up to date on vaccinations, but unfortunately she is Heartworm Positive. The rescue will provide the drugs for 30 days, then she will go to HW prevention.

Mesquite was very patient while bathing/brushing and seemed shy and insecure at first, but with patience and love she will warm up to her people.

Unsure of potty training as these dogs are usually livestock herders, but she seems so eager to please that she will probably take the training very quickly.

Please don’t be put off by age, senior dogs still have a lot of life and more love than you can imagine.

Ayer is just a lover. It is an adult female Pit Bull Terrier mix. She is up to date on the plans, sterilized and clean. Ayer does well with other dogs and children too. Ayer prefers to be in his kennel with a blanket or whatever to make it darker and like a cave. This is his safe space.

She prefers to have music or noise when left alone and especially in stormy weather. She will probably prefer her darker kennel during these times. She is curious about children and does well with them, but she plays a little rough and is quite silly around other dogs. She needs a cat-free home.

Ayer’s favorite hobby is playing ball and she can do it all day! Ayer is being treated for Heartworms and will just need to watch playing time so he doesn’t overdo it.

Sebastian is a seven-year-old Yorkshire Terrier mix. He is fully checked, updated X-rays, Heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered. He is clean (uses a dog door) and good with other dogs but needs a home without kids. He is a good boy but capricious at the first meeting but with patience he will be able to adapt to his family.

Puppies! Puppies! Lisa and her amazing team on the farm have PUPPIES! Six to be exact! These little candies are about 7 weeks old and are a Dachshund mix. They had a first round of vaccinations, deworming and flea and tick treatment. They have that Doxie body and short legs, so they won’t be big dogs.

Furby is ready for pre-adoption. She tends to be a bit shy around new people and would do best in a quiet home. Furby is very playful and has fun going back and forth in his cat tunnel, then resting and relaxing inside his cat tree.

Jesse James is a male Beagle. He’s on a rescue with his partner, Doc Holiday, who also happens to be a Beagle! Jesse is friendly, affectionate, intelligent, curious and athletic. He is fully controlled and neutered.

This guy is very outgoing and loves running around the yard, chasing squirrels, and playing with friendly dogs. His buddy Doc Holiday is the calmer of the two but he is just as affectionate and friendly. Jesse does not bark and bark like most hunting dogs would and he would make a great hiking partner.
