Happy Tuesday, residents of Three Village! Let’s all catch up to start today on an informed note.

First, the weather forecast for the day:

Mostly cloudy with a shower. High: 66 Low: 56.

Here are the best stories from Three Village today:

  1. Three village animals: Has the neighborhood really gone to the dogs? Lately around Three Village all you hear is the conversation around the neighbors and their furry friends. As we all crouched down a bit more, life with Fido got closer and more personal, leading more of us to seek services for our puppies. Premium grooming, dog sitters and local fresh produce vendors meet our need to cater for our dogs. Right now, there is still a long wait for those seeking services that once could seem like a luxury only for the most pampered pets. Demand has remained stable, although the peak of put adoptions has passed. For canine moms and dads, treating new and old additions to the family just like family is the norm. In addition to feeling closer to these pets with their nurturing spirit, the call to return to the office has contributed to the need for dog daycares and sitters. For some, it’s hard to get back to our routines knowing that a little guy or girl has to fend for themselves during the day. You could say we have a new warmth and appreciation from members of our community after enduring a traumatic year and a half. Given the popularity of animal services today, it stands to reason that this warmth extends to the pets that hold a permanent place in our hearts. (Town of Brookhaven)
  2. Halloween Events: On Friday, October 22, Halloween will be stepping into high gear with a very gruesome investigation. The Tesla Science Center in Shorum will host paranormal officials who plan to use cameras and recording equipment to capture otherworldly activity. Prices range from $ 55 to $ 60 depending on age. All are encouraged to bring their own equipment to document the energies existing around the famous laboratory and the tower. Wardenclyffe has long been the object of wonder and has also been shrouded in a bit of mystery. So be brave and join the search for the truth, right in our own backyard just in time for harvesting activities. So jump into this season by braving the elements in your warmest sleuths. For the adventurers who participate, leave us a comment and tell us about the experience. Put it on your calendar, we’ll wait to hear. (You’re here)
  3. Stony Brook Village Center: Okay, so it’s finally here. Stony Brook Village launched the call for its scarecrow contest. These fall straw staples will blow your mind and give you goosebumps at the same time. Go take a look and vote for your favorite creation. They are no longer scarecrows for birds. Stony Brook Village honors its timeless tradition by hosting walking tours and inviting families and adults to take a peek. Walking around the village is a whimsical and wonderful way to spend an autumn day. The contest opened on October 1 and voting ends on October 25, so don’t waste a minute. The winningest looking scarecrow will be announced as a local favorite at the 31st Annual Halloween Festival hosted by the Ward Melville Association. The festival starts at 2 p.m. on October 29. Hope to see you there. (Stony Brook Village Center)
