Roy Lee Herr Sr., 70 – Ellwood City, Pennsylvania

Roy Lee Herr Sr., 70, of Mesa AZ (formerly of Wampum) died Friday, April 8, 2022.

Born December 24, 1951 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Dolly Mielke Herr. He was married to Cynthia “Cindy” Klinesmith Herr.

Lee graduated from Shenango High School and then Geneva College. He comes from a long history of involvement with dogs and animal husbandry on his family farm, which led him to become a breeder, exhibitor, handler, club member, show president and AKC representative and judge. He was president of the New Castle Kennel Club for over 20 years and president of the cluster and coordinator of the Memorial Classic Dog Show Cluster since its inception. He was a life member of the New Castle Kennel Club. Additionally, he has been involved with various dog clubs and judging organizations and was the founder of the Pennsylvania Dog Show Judges. Mr. Herr was a black belt in karate. He was an avid biker and loved to ride. Lee had a great sense of humor.

Surviving are his wife Cynthia (Klinesmith) Herr whom he married on August 26, 1989 of Mesa, AZ. One son Roy Lee Herr Jr. (his fiancée Rachel Piatek) and their son Roy Lee Herr III, of Wampum, four daughters Victoria (Thomas Bulisco) and their children Marco Bulisco (Angela) of New Castle, and Luann (Mark Burdick) and Melissa Houston. Lisa (Dean Epperson) and their children Tyler and Katelynn from Neshannock, Karen Sue (Colton Woolsey) and their children Emma and Caleb from Mesa, AZ and Nicole Herr (Rick Dittig) his children Matthew (his fiancée Kaylie Bambery) and Christopher Lovy from Monaco. 3 brothers Joseph Herr Sr. (and his wife Deborah) of Wetmore, MI. Larry Herr (and his wife Crystal) of West Pittsburg and Don Herr of Alligator Point, Fl. and a sister Dee Barroso of Ocala, Florida. 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his in-laws Albert and Karen Klinesmith and his sister-in-law, Sonya Herr.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, April 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral 11:00 a.m. at Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St. Wampum. His brother Joseph Herr will officiate.
