Dozens of neglected dogs rescued from a disgraced southern Iowa breeder are starting new life in Kansas City. Wayside Waifs is one of nine dog-friendly shelters at facilities owned by Daniel Gingerich. reported in a special KCCI 8 News investigation, Gingerich has agreed to relinquish more than 500 dogs. He has been cited for violating federal animal welfare law more than 100 times. The Wayne County Sheriff said Gingerich would face criminal charges. So far, the Kansas City shelter has accepted around 80 dogs and is expecting dozens more. As we reported in a special KCCI 8 News investigation, Gingerich has agreed to hand over more than 500 dogs.

He has been cited for violating federal animal welfare law more than 100 times. Wayne County Sheriff says Gingerich will face criminal charges.
