To wrap up its latest Pay With a Goal campaign, Logix Federal Credit Union raised $ 20,000 to benefit five local nonprofits that strive to connect people and their pets.

From May 1 to May 15, each time a member used their Logix Mastercard credit or debit card, the credit union donated two cents to support one of five local nonprofits: Carousel Ranch in Santa Clarita, Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue in Antelope Valley, PawWorks Veterinary Hospital and Apollo’s ARC in Conejo Valley, and Wildlife Care of Southern California in Simi Valley.

“Last year our members embraced our Pay with a Goal campaign to give back to local food banks and hospitals – organizations that were on the front lines during the pandemic. This year, we wanted to recognize the nonprofits that have helped us feel connected during a time when we needed it most, ”said President and CEO Ana Fonseca. “Two hundred really adds up, and those dollars will be used for services related to bringing people and their pets, therapy animals or wildlife closer together in our communities. During this difficult time, Carousel Ranch continued to provide equestrian therapy to children of varying abilities, while Lifesavers is changing lives by empowering women through the unique experience of working with rescued wild mustangs. It is a privilege to help these non-profit organizations, especially with the help of our members.

Carousel Ranch General Manager Denise Redmond expressed her gratitude for the credit union‘s support.

“We are very grateful to Logix for including us in Pay with a Goal,” said Redmond. “The dedication and support of the Credit Union helps us provide therapy and services to our clients. This is especially important after a year when so many of the children and young adults we serve have been cut off from the world around them. We were able to welcome our customers again, allowing everyone to focus on their needs and goals. For many, Carousel Ranch is a home away from home. This donation will help us as we continue to provide them with these invaluable services. “

Carousel Ranch has served families in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas for almost 25 years. Families can apply for financial assistance to help pay for the services and cost of each session, which includes facility maintenance, instructor, horse care, and staff time. Funds from Pay with a Goal will go towards these scholarships.

Families appreciate the experience of both programs because children and young adults have found their voice there, while achieving results they never imagined. Lifesavers Chief Executive Officer Jill Starr said this donation provides much needed support for those who wish to participate in the Women’s Wild Horse Empowerment Journey.

“Our empowerment journey is a unique experience where you will connect your heart with a horse as you learn the gentleness of wild horses. This guided and hands-on activity connects women with rescued wild mustangs, giving them the opportunity to connect. physically and spiritually, helping him learn to trust humans and prepare them for a life of domestication. When you put your whole heart into it, you can experience life-changing times, “said Starr.” This program is self-funded, which means we charge participants for participation. The success of the Pay With a Goal campaign will result in scholarships for women who need this incredible journey.
