Roanoke Valley brewery and shaved ice truck raise money for local animal shelters on Wednesday

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A Salem Brewery and Roanoke Shaved Ice Truck will each host special events Wednesday to raise funds for local animal shelters – namely Angels of Assisi and the Roanoke Valley SPCA.

During the “Pints ​​for a Purpose”, $ 1 will be donated to Angles of Assisi for each pint sold at Parkway Brewing Company from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday 23 June.

Additionally, Angels of Assisi will be bringing some adoptable dogs to the brewery – located at 739 Kessler Mill Road in Salem – from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to help them find a forever home.

“We hope you go out, have a few pints, listen to live music and visit some friendly puppies!” The angels of Assisi wrote on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Refreshing crushed ice named the Roanoke Valley SPCA as the charity to benefit from this week’s “”Chillin ‘Ice Doin’ Nice“Fundraiser. All tips from the truck and 10 percent of Wednesday’s profits will go to the animal shelter.

The crushed ice truck will be open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the corner of Riverland Road and Bennington Street SE in the same parking lot as Dominos and Dollar Tree.
