Local Animal Rescue Center looking for votes in $ 12,000 contest

It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue is looking for votes in a contest to win $ 12,000.

The nonprofit is participating in the Freshpet “Fresh Start” program, which will award five grants of $ 12,000 to shelters across the United States. Two finalist organizations will also receive $ 3,000 each.

It Takes a Village says it currently sits at No. 1 in the country, but is trying to maintain that position with community support as Tuesday, September 28 is the last day of voting.

Funds awarded under the Freshpet Fresh Start program will be used to support neglected animals. It Takes a Village has locations in Evansville, Indiana, and a location in Spencer County.
