Heart of Minnesota Animal Center Gaelle

Gail is a beauty!

This 2.5 year old Mastiff/Boxer/Pitty mix has a heart as golden as its coat. She is a strong girl in attitude and conviction, so she needs a home that can be consistent with boundaries and training; because she will find your weakness and take advantage of it with her independent personality – It’s her superpower: perceptive intelligence!

She is motivated by food, so training treats will get her attention. Gail will do better in a house with older kids (just because of her size and cunning), and in a house with previous experience in consistent training that will let her be the best girl she can be. She is extremely selective about other dogs, as she likes to be the center of attention, so a home life where she is the only puppy is ideal.

Gail is sweet and strong, smart and gentle, loving and bold. She’s the perfect girlfriend! We love our Gail, and we know you will too. For more information contact the shelter by click here.

Ruff Start Dog & Cat Rescue – Henricho

If you’re here, you’re probably looking for your new best friend and I caught your eye. That’s great news, because I was looking for you too! My name is Henricho but my host family calls me Henry. Your first impression of me is probably that I’m very cute. While you’re not mistaken, I’m also playful, clumsy, smart, loving, and a total hugger! So far, I have been a model guest for my adoptive parents. I get along well with cats and other dogs, am mostly potty trained on a schedule and do well in my crate when they leave. One of my favorite things is chasing a laser pointer – the elusive red dot is just too much fun!

Since I had a rough start in life, I’m still learning to trust humans. They abandoned me in a shelter when I was young and I was very scared. Fortunately, someone from the shelter took me in until I arrived in Minnesota. After living with them and my host family, I’m beginning to see how beautiful life can be! However, my forever family will have to give me a lot of encouragement and training because I am always reactive to strangers. I usually bark at them when they pass. With patience and proper guidance, I know I can shine! If you have a ride that needs my hugs, let’s make this best friend thing official.
Henricho is a male Chihuahua/Terrier mix. For more information about Henricho and how to adopt, visit www.ruffstartrescue.org.

Hawk Creek Animal Sanctuary Myers

Myers is a 3 year old lab. He came to us as a stray who was very skinny. He has been gaining weight slowly but can still eat in survival mode on occasion. Slow feeding is suggested for this type. He is quite energetic and will need time to learn all that comes with being in a house. It’s common to look at your person to steer, so a little practice with some treats would be a great way to get your mind working. He came with another dog who has since been adopted, so now it’s time for this sweet boy.

Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARCH) – Leda

I’m Leda aka Ladybug or even better, just “Lady”! If you’re looking for a happy, high-energy furball with a puppy heart, I’m your friend! I like tug of war; chew toys and long walks and it would be better if I exercised every day. If you’ve ever wanted a running or hiking partner, I’m the dog for you. I have a hunter’s instinct, so I may need to be redirected when we find other creatures along the way.

Although I love meeting new friends, I am an alpha and it takes me a while to get used to new dogs. Slow intros are very important! I’m not a park dog until I have better manners. My interactions with other puppies should be carefully monitored until we become friends. A single-dog home might be best for me or for an experienced dog owner who can help me transition to a multi-dog home. Cats are way too exciting for me, so a cat-free home is a must right now. I can adapt to new situations, but need to work on my “impulse control” due to my breeding tendencies.

I’m clean and doing great in my kennel and have already adjusted very well to my new foster home, but I’m excited for my next chapter and can’t wait to find the human(s) that will will love forever.

Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) – Stella

This is Stella, and we estimate she’s about a year old. She is good with children, other cats and dogs. She plays on the scratching posts and is fully litter trained. Stella is solid white with copper eyes.

The runt of her litter, Stella is food-driven, having a tenacity to find and devour food, even if it meant taking it from our hands while we ate. She is much better now that she knows there is no shortage of food, but she still tries to eat dog food every chance she gets.

Stella was vaccinated against rabies on July 22 and is microchipped. She has not yet been spayed, so there will be a $50 refundable* sterilization deposit required in addition to her adoption fee.

You can view his adoption profile online at hartpets.orgcall the shelter for more information at (218) 829-4141, or visit them in person at 15494 Dellwood Drive, Brainerd MN 56401 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tri-County Animal Shelter Themias

Themias is a 2 year old neutered mixed breed dog who will need a patient home willing to work with her on her dog life skills. Once she gets to know you, Themias is a huge cuddly bug, and she thinks she’s a lap dog despite weighing nearly 70 pounds! Thanks to a memorial fund from Kira, Themias has a free dog training session through Prodigy Pups Dog Training!

Underdog Pet Rescue of MN – barlow

Hello everyone! I am Barlow!

I will make you laugh but I will also definitely keep you on your toes! My siblings and I were sadly raised alone in a dark shed. Fortunately, we were rescued, and since then I have learned a lot! Give me an empty box and I can have fun for at least half an hour. I also learned to go potty outside. I’m not 100% yet, I admit. I would say I am a strong 90% though! I keep it in my crate when you have to go somewhere and leave me. I also hold it overnight. Luckily, if I need to go potty during the night, I’ll wake you up and let you know. I usually sleep at the foot of the bed in a dog bed. However, two nights ago it occurred to me that I could jump on the human bed and sleep with them. So that’s my new preference, of course. In my foster family, I live with an adopted brother who is my age, and adult male and female dogs, all of whom I respect.

Minnesota’s Pet Haven – Nilla

Are you looking for a companion who likes to wear holiday sweaters? Meet Nilla!

A gentle giant of 5 years old who never says no to a tummy rub or time spent in the company of her humans, 92-pound Nilla loves to take long walks and would make a great outdoor companion whether it’s hiking hiking on a trail, strolling through neighborhoods, or strolling around an MN lake!

She’s great with kids and loves having a canine friend to hang out with at home.
