AUSTIN, Texas – Governor Greg Abbott announced that the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved Texas’ request for an economic disaster declaration for communities affected by Hurricane Hanna.

The SBA has also granted access to its Economic Disaster Lending (EIDL) program, which will provide long-term, low-interest loans to eligible businesses in the community, the press release said. governor.

The counties included in the declaration are Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Kenedy, Starr and Willacy.

“Texas thanks the US Small Business Administration for providing this financial lifeline to eligible small businesses in the Rio Grande Valley as they continue to rebuild after Hurricane Hanna,” Governor Abbott said.

Governor Abbott submitted this request on August 28.
