The Everett Animal Shelter is hosting Feline Fix, a low-cost spaying and neutering event for cats on Monday, March 21 at the shelter (333 Smith Island Rd., Everett). Low-cost cat spaying and neutering is available by appointment only to Snohomish County cat owners who meet income thresholds.
Cats will also receive a free microchip at the event. The event is in partnership with the Community Cat Coalition, which made a generous donation to help reduce surgery costs.
“We are delighted to organize this event to help our community,” said Glynis Frederiksen, animal services manager. “Spaying and neutering your cats has many benefits, including increasing their lifespan and reducing their risk of cancer. Plus, it’s a great opportunity before the spring surge of kittens arrives and the shelters are flooded with unexpected litters.
Cat castrations (female) cost $40 and neuters (male) cost $35 for eligible pet owners. Vaccines and flea/worming treatments will also be available for $10 each. The microchip will be available for FREE.
