Cookie and Brownie: a sweet pair

Interested adopters can view available animals, such as Brownie and Cookie, and book an appointment online at azhumane.org/adopt.

For anyone with a sweet tooth, this cute pair is definitely for you! Cookie, an outgoing 8-year-old Lhasa Apso, and Brownie, a unique 11-year-old Chihuahua-Dachshund mix, were turned over to the Arizona Humane Society about a month ago after their former owner could no longer care for of them. A reminder that the AHS Pet Resource Center is available to give resources to owners in need to try and help keep pets in their loving homes.

As you immediately notice when you meet these sweet pets, these adorable girls are very bonded and need to go to a house together forever. Cookie and Brownie love to be around each other and rely on each other for emotional support and would love a family that has enough room in their home and hearts for both.

Although they are not very fond of sweets, Cookie and Brownie love to snack! For this reason, these puppies could benefit from an exercise routine and a little diet to help them lose weight and regain height. Additionally, these girls are very outgoing and sweet, but can be shy at first. AHS therefore recommends that they go to a home with older children who are at least 13 years of age or older.

How to adopt: Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation, all pet fees are completely waived at AHS until Sunday July 11! Arizona Humane Society Matchmaking Virtual Adoptions are available to place pets with their families forever. Interested adopters can view available animals, such as Cookie and Brownie, and book an appointment online at azhumane.org/adopt.

Magnet Mason: A sweet and affectionate boy

Interested adopters can view available animals, such as Magnet Mason, and book an appointment online at azhumane.org/adopt.

With a name like Magnet Mason, it’s no wonder anyone who meets this beautiful 3 year old medium haired domestic kitten falls in love! This cute boy was brought to the Arizona Humane Society in early June as an injured wanderer when locals noticed wounds around his neck.

Upon examination at AHS Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital, it was determined that Mason had neck injuries as well as an abscess in the same area. After surgery to clean and close the wounds, this cute cat received honey wraps and warm compresses to aid in recovery. In addition, he also received a very fashionable shave to relieve him of his extremely tangled hair.

Although not much is known about his past, Magnet Mason has proven to be an extremely sweet and affectionate boy. Even in stressful situations and when he’s not feeling well, this eye-catching kitten has craved attention and will even bake cookies when he’s more comfortable with his human friends.

How to adopt: Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation, all pet fees are completely waived at AHS until Sunday July 11! Arizona Humane Society Matchmaking Virtual Adoptions are available to place pets with their families forever.
