Clear the Shelters is coming back to San Diego County for a good time – NBC 7 San Diego

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that adoption fees are waived / reduced.

Gather your paws for the culmination of a month-long campaign to bring dozens of needy animals to their furry homes.

Clear the Shelters is rolling out big Saturday with a dozen San Diego County animal shelters participating in the campaign. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Animal Shelters from North County to South Bay will gather pets and households to help complete families.

Saturday will be a magical day where families will walk through participating animal shelters to find the animal of their dreams and then adopt The One. After completing their adoption process, loving households can return home with a new furry, feathered, or even scaled family member.

Each year, more than 6.5 million animals end up in animal shelters in the United States, and only about 3.2 million are adopted, according to the ASPCA. Over 100,000 pets were adopted nationwide in 2020 as part of the NBC and Telemundo campaign and this year we hope to increase that number.
