After 200 days, the oldest resident of the Orange County shelter finds his forever home

A happy update from Orange County Animal Services: Their oldest resident of the shelter, Cano, has finally found his forever home!

Cano spent around 200 days at the shelter. The shelter said a family saw him on the news on Friday and picked him up on Saturday!

“They saw he was a gentle, senior dog eager to be loved,” the shelter said. “They couldn’t stand the thought of Cano having another day without a home. So they opened theirs to him.”

Cano was dumped outside a local veterinary hospital in April and impounded at the shelter two days later. He was one of two dogs featured on digital billboards along Interstate 4 with the goal of bringing dogs to loving homes before the holidays. The other dog on the billboard, Davey, was adopted earlier this month.
