Adopt one of these adorable Long Island pet cats

We’re not a kitten this week with so many adorable kittens available for adoption, it’s easier than ever to find your new best friend, so head to your local shelter / rescue and pick up a cat in Long Island this weekend!

Available for adoption at the Smithtown Town Animal Shelter

Chips

Chips, also affectionately known as One-Eyed Jack, is a one-and-a-half-year-old Male Domestic Shorthair Mix. It’s hard to find a cat who is more outgoing, affectionate and friendly than Chips! Chips had severe breathing problems as a kitten, which caused him to lose one eye and severe scars in the other. He will likely continue to suffer from chronic breathing problems, and a potential household will need to help him deal with this when he takes care of himself. This little guy doesn’t let his health problems get in the way, and he remains a bright light in the face of adversity. Chips came from a house where he lived with children and other pets, so he will fit perfectly in any home!

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America

** Reminder ** The North Shore Animal League America is waiving all feline adoption fees (for cats and kittens) for approved adopters until the end of the month.

Mr. Goodbar

When Mr. Goodbar (Adoption # NCR6156) arrived at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, he wanted to make it clear that humans are his top priority! This year-old southern stunner just can’t get enough attention from visitors and is the first to receive treats and ear rubs. You could complete his life by offering him the chance to be worshiped at the behest of your family, and with his super smooth sound, you will find he is a treat hard to resist!

Mia Hamm

4-year-old Mia Hamm (Adoption # LA0909) is a Heart Thieves Champion! This Louisiana rescue goes offensive as she greets her fans with an open heart, ready for great adventures ahead with a new team. Want to share the glory of scoring a winning goal for your family? Recruit Mia Hamm as a teammate and you’ll celebrate a lifetime of victories together!

Di Melo

7-year-old Di Melo (Adoption # BF3681) recently lost her home and is looking for a committed family. This wonderful tabby cat was brought to safety by rescuers a few months ago, but he will never say he has had a moment of desperation in his life. He’s a day scout! Although his time on the streets has left him IVF +, he enjoys a peaceful room at Bianca’s Furry Friends feline adoption center with equally peaceful roommates. Any family would be very lucky to call it theirs; just give it an ear massage and you will see why we think it is a fabulous choice for your home!

Bert and Ernie

** Double Adoption ** Best friends Bert (Adoption # BF3605) and Ernie (Adoption # BF3606) hit a fork in the road. These one-year-old super-bonded brothers recently lost their first home, but as long as they’re together they’re ready for whatever the future holds. A little cat experience, a touch of patience, and an open heart to new beginnings, that’s all Bert and Ernie need to believe you could be the final hero in their rescue story. Bert has already lost his apprehension and is also showing his shy brother how to be brave. You’ll find the duo napping by the windows when not exploring their sunny bedroom in Bianca’s Furry Friends feline adoption center. A family with children six and over will appreciate how very special being loved by these two characters can be!

Carnita

** Senior Alert ** Are you looking for a sympathetic woman to feel at home in your heart? We have the feline for you. When her owner needed a safe place for Carnita (Adoption # BF3796) to land, Animal League America greeted her with the promise of a happy new start on the horizon. This sensational ten-year-old keeps pace with the kids in her bedroom and loves to watch the playgroups from above on her perch. Her favorite pastime is getting rubs on the ears of friends in exchange for a treat. The NSALA assures Carnita that her future will improve once again as she is discovered by her next family and provides them with the sunny and peaceful retirement she deserves. NSALA vets have discovered that Carnita has hyperthyroidism, but they have a treatment plan that will be covered by their pet health centers, so there’s nothing stopping you from bringing Carnita home today!

Harpist

When we say Harper has something special (Adoption # NCI2216) we mean more than the extra toes on his hind legs! This sweet, polydactyl two-year-old looks lovely as she explores her new surroundings, but her greatest quality is her ability to make quick friends with every purrson she meets. While not a fan of other pets, she is a huge mood booster for us humans, especially those who give her a bit of peace and quiet. Families with children (from six years old) will appreciate its oversized legs and subtle personality. Want to make Harper your number one fan? Offer her some treats and she will offer you, her heart; she’ll get you home in no time!

Ally

Ally (Adoption # BF2504) recently lost her home and returned to the NSALA to help find a new one. Ally easily falls in love with new friends and allows hugs to hello. This two year old girl has an open mind and heart for whatever awaits her and we promise the best will come for her. Hurry. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to be the object of Ally’s affection!
